R-134, 39 oz of freon, pag 150 oil, 8 oz oil, now that is the capacity for a new compressor and systen cleaned, or you need to drain yours old compressor and add half to the compressor and half into the accumalator/drier to have the correct oil amount in the system.

Shawn, there are right ways and wrong ways to fill a cars A/C system.
The proper way is to have the proper equipment, gauges, etc. and evacuate the system, flush then refill to the factory specs. amount of oil and refrigerant, this equipment normally used at a good shop. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How do I convert from r12 to 134a cooling refrigerant in a 1992 Buick Lesabre?

I think you can still find the old R12 at a premium price. It would be worth it if your air con system holds well with no significant leaks. Genuine 12 Refrigerant LARGE SIZE 2 14 oz Cans
The old refrigerant and oil are not compatible with the new stuff. The expansion valve is questionable, may or may not work properly. The oil in the compressor, in the evaporator, in the condensor, and in the accumulator/filter/dryer need be removed thuroughly. New service port adapters are installed. Then the new R134 can be introduced. You may find a conversion kit with instructions.
I recall a bulletin calling for replacing the oil and reusing the refrigerant, repeatedly, 2-3X, the final oil replacement gets the new refrigerant.
When ever the system is exposed to the atmosphere, it should be evacuated before refilling. So much to think about and consider.

Does anyone know how to change out the A/C compressor to a 1996 cierra?

This job requires special tools and special training. If you lack either, you risk SERIOUS personal injury. Injury comes VERY EASILY!

You need to address oil levels, proper and legal refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, and recharge.

You were planning to also replace the receiver/dryer, correct? It also needs the oil in it measured and incorporated into the amount of oil (in %) that would need to be added. FAILURE to address these and other issues will guarantee premature system failure and likely compressor damage.

Take this job to a qualified shop.

Sorry

What is the price to have an air compressor put in a 1997 Buick LeSabre

Hello deb683
The dealer cost for the compressor is $626.05
The autozone cost is between $200.00+$300.00 (
I don't know the current salvage yard rate, but I'll guess between $100.00+$150.00 for a good one. Book labor is 0.9hrs
The cost to evacuate and recharge the system with R134 is extra and
prices vary. I't will be cheaper to have it done by the shop that installs
the compressor as they have to evacuate the system anyway.
Hope this helps.

Need to know location of low and high pressure switch on a/c of a 2003 buick lesabre

find the ac compressor, follow the hose going to the rear, when you find two wires that's it
Don't touch it unless the system's been evacuated, you'll get a face full of freezing goop and probably ruin the threads, ask a parts house, sometomes the section of hose must be replaced the switch is welded on, most GM's put the switch on the expansion block, that one's usualy not removable the block must be replaced
If you paln to remove it either empty the system, or have a pro do it
THIS IS DANGEROUS BE CAREFUL
