Question about 2001 Saturn SL

1 Answer

My 2001 Saturn SL1 with 140 miles won't start. It was running fine then went out to start it this morning and nothing. When I try to start it the clock on the dashboard resets. Headlights won't come on. I checked the battery and it has a charge. So I'm assuming it's something else electrical. Any ideas?

Put a drop tester across the battery its flat for whatever reason or had its life so try charging it with a trickle chearger for a couple of days and if still no start then renew it

I tried to start my car this morning. There was no electricity at all and i mean at all, The power locks won't even work nothing. The car won't start, it's perfectly silent when you turn

You would need to use a meter or test light to find out what exactly is dead. It could be a short in the fuse box, or a bad connection in the harness, or at the battery or starter.
You may need a repair book or shop manual to get the wiring diagrams.
If nothing on the truck works, you would start at the battery cables and work back to the key switch.

2001 Saturn L200 Sedan, 186,000+ miles. When first try to start it cold, engine stumbles and sometimes won't run--like its short of fuel or lacking spark. Try again and she starts fine and runs great...

You can read what the ECTS is telling your computer with a scanner. (It will read in degrees) If this is bad, sometimes it will read -40 degrees and cause the system to add more fuel, which may be you issue. Also, you can ohm out your spark plug wires to verify if they are all equal.

2002 Saturn SL1 - won't start, turn over, starts fine with jump

Have the alternator and battery checked. The battery may not be holding a charge. The alternator may not be charging the battery,it should put out between 14 and 15 volts, any less the alternator is bad.
