Right, now we're getting some where. the fuel fielter has a vacume control valve built in and it will ristrict the fuel flow. check when the fielter was last changed and was it aftermarket fielter cause they are really bad. I'm saying this cause it has happen to me few times.

It could be that the fuel pump is going bad. It could be also that your fuel filter is clogging up or going bad or going bad.

6.8 V10 hard to start and backfires once I got it to start fuel pressure was 87psi at idle no codes im suspecting fuel pressure regulator?? Any ideas?

If its the fuel system it should not backfire. It could be out of time synchronous (ignition - crank sensor - belt). becareful!!! you could hurt it if you try to start it to many times.

No start on 93 olds bravada without starter fluid , i did a fuel pressure test idle was good but when i switched ignition off the presure went straight to 10 psi from about 60 psi , i suspect a bad c

Internal pressure regulator on the fuel pump should hold for about a minute but some pressure loss is normal. However, on initial start-up, the pressure must be at operating pressure or the system wont work. I suspect the fuel pump is failing, it is an all too common problem for GM trucks and SUVs with mpfi fuel injection.
IACs do not go out very often, usually there is a problem with vacuum leaks, dirty throttle assemblies.

No Injector Pulse

run fault codes as there is a problem sensor in the system. volts at the injector is suspect as the voltage will vary with the fuel requirement.

P0340 already replaced CMP

When you start the car does it turn on right away or does it turn over slowly, gets faster and then finally fires up? That's a sign for low fuel pressure. If it turns over normally and always fine I would suspect that your fuel system is okay. Also low fuel pressure would be caused by a faulty fuel pump. If the car is leaking oil, you should get that fixed asap, it should be on top of your list. You can fix the sensor after you fixed your engine. Because leaking engines can kill themselves pretty fast, which would be more trouble to fix than faulty sensors.

Starts but goes dead,stARTS aagain and DOES THIS FOR A FEW TIMES THEN IT WILL RUN PROPERLY

I doubt it.
If the map sensor were faulty, you should get a check engine light and a trouble code for the sensor stored in the computer.
I would check the fuel pump relay and base fuel pressure.
The pump may not be getting power from the relay but instead only from the oil pressure switch.

  3. Ignition misfire condition
  4. Fuel injector problem
  5. Engine mechanical condition

    - The powertrain control module uses the oxygen sensor to calculate the air/fuel ratio of the engine. The computer has recognized a rich or lean condition on one engine bank only.

    Probable Cause[s]

    1. If bank one and two codes set together suspect fuel pressure or MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor
    2. Oxygen sensor defective

we could be a couple thing to check when the car cuts off see if you still have fuel pressure in rail and check and see if you have spark if no fuel pressure suspect faulty fuelpump if you have no spark then suspect a ignition control module or the crank sensor try these hope this helps

you need to see if you have spark and check all fuses and see if you have fuel pressure and injector pulse if no spark and no injector pulse suspect crank sensor or ignition control module if no fuel pressure check fuses then relays and then suspect pump
