Follow the positive battery cable and it will lead you to the starter. Really can't remember if they were difficult to remove but if they were, I'd likely remember that.

Hello rbm4448: My name is Roger and I will help you. The starter is accessed from under the car. It is located on the driver side of the engine at the area of transmission to block match up. How ever it may be on the right side of the engine. Has been quit a few years since the corvairs were popular. I have an old Motor manual that covers 1964 thru 1969 models. However there are no pictures of the starter or its location. If my memory serves me correct it is a challenge to remove. My parents had two of the. A monza and a spider both were tricks to work on. If I can be of any further help please just ask? Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

1965 falcon sedan resistor

Ignition ballast resistor is usually mounted on the firewall near the back of the engine. It's white, rectangular, and has a wire connector on each end. It's function is to limit primary coil current during engine running. The ballast is bypassed during starting so you get a higher spark voltage. If you remove the ballast, you will burn out your coil.

How to remove starter on 1967 Corvair Monza

Inside the engine compartment on the driver's side near the firewall there is a plug with a large purple wire and a yellow wire . Unplug this. disconnect the positive side of the battery. There are 2 bolts in the starter holding it onto the engine. Remove these bolts. Pull down the starter and remove the nut that holds the large cable onto the starter. Route the plug on the top side of the engine through the hole in the shroud near it. It should be free to remove after that.
I have had over 10 Corvairs.

How can I jump the starter on my 91 camaro?

hot wire starter you can short out ignition switch and wiring. to jump starter ignition switch start postion.you have to run 10 gauge jumper wire from the starter solenoid positive battery terminal to starter switch or S terminal on starter solenoid this procedure take two people but better remove starter replace starter solenoid. trying jumping off starter on camaro would be dangerous you have jack up car to get to starter and wiring person laying under car hot wiring starter while other person hold ignition start position put person under car in deadly position just remove starter have auto parts check it out first replace starter or solenoid if either bad. easier hot wire starter if starter under hood like my 1977 vega monza had starter at top could take long screw driver jump starter off.on the four cylinders engines back in the 70s. camaro starter under car dangerous trying to hot wire not a good idea.

1965 mustang starter fires but won't engage flywheel. it is a brand new starter

Doesn't matter. The forks inside the starter may be missing or broke off or bad spring in starter that pushes the gear out. Try new started. Starter may have to be shimmed to make contact with flywheel. Starter may be kicking out but not engaging flywheel.

1965 mustang 289 motor 4speed trans. starter is grinding the teeth on my flywheel, the teeth on the flywheel are ground down to about half the thickness of the gears and the bendex on the starter is fully...

Possible. That, or maybe the starter has the wrong gear in it...there could be different ones, but I don't know for sure on this particular application.
