I have just fitted a 12ht motor to my 88 landcruiser ute. Want to know how to make the engine stop as it came out of an automatic car.

If you meant cutting the engine, you have the option of installing an inertia switch or kill switch since this is an old model diesel, cutting electricity to the engine will not stop it since it does not require spark to run. If you have a diesel engine installed here before the engine change you may use the same ignition set up, assuming it is the old diesel engine. Old diesel does not use electric power unlike new ones which has computers.

"The throtle body in my 2H ( EDIC controled ) it's complete diferent than any 12H-T that I've seen before .. "

The 2H with auto transmission has the same sort of pneumatic-controlled governor as the 12H-T, though the intake manifolds are quite different, as are the glow systems. Both share the use of the VSV to shut the engine off by closing the intake butterfly.

I obtained a 2H from a truck with the auto trans, but swapped out the flex plate and installed a ring gear, etc, to mate the 4-speed H41 up. I had a choice, it seemed, between leaving the auto trans specific injector pump in place, or removing it and installing the manual trans type of injector pump with the EDIC system.

I sure seems to me that a single VSV to shut the engine down is a somewhat simpler set than a fuel control relay and EDIC motor. The vsv is cheap and reliable, and they are used heavily throughout the Toyota range. Some are normally open, and some are normally closed. Early 40 series used vacuum switching with vacuum switching valves.

The fuel control relay is the weak link in the EDIC system and a common cause of problems down the line when it starts to pack it in. How much longer will these relays be available from Toyota, and at what price? I'm already finding it impossible to obtain early 1980's 40 series (and 60 series) glow relays, for example. That said, the EDIC system is otherwise quite reliable.

With the VSV system, Toyota uses an engine management computer to deal with the low oil pressure switch, among numerous other functions I'm sure. I wasn't interested in locating a 12V one for my truck for controlling a single function.

I eventually located a product out of Australia that does the job as far as the low pressure switch, the TM3 Engine Watchdog.

I'm sure that someone with knowledge of basic electronics would be able to solder up a simple circuit board to do the same thing as the TM3. I was able to rig up the TM3 to control my vsv quite readily; it can also be use to control a fuel shut off valve, or can be configured to power up a device instead of cut power. It's a pretty versatile doodad, and a lot cheaper than a new relay from Toyota.

The engine is a 12ht turbo diesel 85 modle hj61 land cruiser. engine will start, the base idle is low and runs rough RPM aprox 600. wind up base idle with idle screw to 1000 runs good but u can take turn...

Check to see stop solenoid is working, you may be able to do this by getting someone to turn the key on and off slowly while you are hold your fingers against the side of it.
It is the small metal (Nut) with a wire going into it for an easy description.
The reason you have to choke the engine to stop it is you have either no power going to the switch or the switch is not working properly. i would think more that the switch may not be working properly as it is meant to close fully when power is turned off, if this was working it doesn't matter how much the motor is reving it will still shut of the fuel to the pump.
Sometime these solenoids get a bit of dirt etc stuck in them s well, this is usually just a easy fix, clamp the rubber fuel line before the pump, undo the switch, clean it and refit it, then undo the clamp and prime the pump using the hand primer.
Then start the vehicle, don't try to start the vehicle before you have reprimed the pump as you can damage the engine if you don't have fuel going into it.
Hope this helps, and good luck with it.
Dont rush working on a diesel, just take your time mate.

Toyota Landcruiser ute HJ75 2H Dsl 4lt starting problems

Sounds like pump timing is out of sync with engine crank and camshaft. Utterly crucial on a diesel engine. all needs to be pinned in place when refitting chain or belt, then pump timing sho uld be set up with a dial test indicator. A job for someone who knows what their doing. Before considering buying this carry out compression check as if timing is out between cam/crank tow starting could have bent valves!

Hope this helps!

Need to fit coil springs to Landcruiser 79 series ute (2004)

You need a coil spring compresser, and the proper skill level to use it.
If you try to change the coils without a compresser, you CAN & WILL GET HURT. Coil springs are not something to fool about with if you do not have the proper tools. These things are danagerous.

I have a landcruiser 1994 gas. i one too change it for diesel

to change a gas to a diesel is a very big project. you will need all new feul system, lines, filters, pumps, etc. then the motor has to fit the trani. which is hard to find, so you might need a new trani. then braking, cooling, heating, and so much more. but if you still want to the best thing to do is get a convertion step- by- step book. if you found someone that could tell you. they would need to know what car exsactly and what motor you would be putting in to it.
