I would say if it has never been changed i would seriously consider having it changed as if it were to break it may cause serious damage to the engine. every car is different but generally every 130.000kms. Alex

    every timing belt has to be changed every 150,000km i wouldnt recommend doing it any earlier unless your water pump is leaking then it would be optimum for it to be carried out.
    i agree with "moonbooter" if it were to break it would cause massive damage but the belt is designed to last 150,000 and then whenever after is good luck

Tensioning timing belt
Timing belts usually have an automatic (spring Loaded) adjuster. Usual replacement is done at 100,000 k or 60,000 miles. If you do not replace it you run the risk of it breaking which could do damage to the engine. refer to your owners manual.
