EGR Valve and Back pressure valve. Those will cause idling issues that will make your vehicle do what it is doing now.

What would cause a 2002 Tahoe to die when you let off the throttle?

1) Bad/clogged Idle Air Control (IAC) especially if you have a oil and gauss air filter.
2) Air leak in the duct between the air filter and Throttle body.
3) Bad or clogged Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF).
4) Bad Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).
If no throttle cable the throttle body assembly..

clean the idler on the intake and also clean the throttle sensor, it would also be best to change the air filter and clean the maf sensor. Idler does more than just idle vehicle it controls low revs, and drop down from reves. throttle sensor tell ecu what air to add to the fuel. and the MAF tells ecu how much air is coming into the intake. also check for broken cracked vacuum lines.

I have an 03 Tahoe 5.3 (not flex) and it has a rough idle and has now started shutting off at stops. And eats gas more than usual. Throws codes p0101 102 171 171pd 174 174pd and 301. It's usually 2 codes...

A good place to start would be to take your car into a Chevy dealer. They will be able to tell you exactly what the problem is. Sounds like it could be a plugged cat. converter. The cost at the dealer is normally FREE!!

Stalling & Hesitate While Driving

Never attempt cleaning (spray cleaner) a MAF sensor or touch the element, It will damage the sensor. A dirty air filter will put the MAF sensor out of range. The only sensor subject to physical wear is the TPS (throttle position sensor) The low oil sensor will disable the ignition if more than a quart low. The crank sensor triggers the ignition and if not installed correctly will not pick up a signal(.018 air gap) Perform An OBDII scan of stored fault history before going any further to avoid buying more parts you don't need.

1994 chevy c 1500 shuts off everytime i stop

Possible TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) issue. The TPS controls idling speeds under all conditions. Although the truck may idle fine when cold, once warm, if you are encountering sputtering or stalling, the TPS could be the culprit. Other possibilities could be fouled spark plugs, bad wires, or a bad distributor cap.

When my vehicle is running and I stop at the light or if i'm parked with the vehicle running, the engine seems like its about to shut off. what oculd this be?

About 12 things

Clean the Throttle Body with --CRC Throttle Body Cleaner
Clean MAF Sensor with -CRC MAF Cleaner
Need a fairly clean Air Filter
No Vacuum Leaks --anywhere ( including ducting-- filter to throttle)
Common sense--Spark Plugs,every three years,not more than 50,000 miles
--Gas Filter,every three years,30,000 miles
Check --for loose O2 Sensors (Vacuum Leaks)
Check--TPS Sensor,at idle

My 1996 chevy tahoe has rougha rough idle and low r.p.m's in drive what can i do to solve this problem

I would do a full tune up first. Plugs, wires, rotor, cap and coil. If your idle is still rough consider MAP sensor, idle position sensor, or any other emissions sensors maybe suspect. They usually set codes that would trigger your "check engine" light. On the other hand check belts and tension pully if you have one. Lastley, change the fuel filter put in some injector cleaner. A good shop can test the fuel pressure from the fuel pump. I hope this can help.

I had the same exact problem on my 2004 Colorado (3.5L). Cleaned the MAF sensor (with MAF sensor cleaner) and throttle body/plate - cleared it right up.
