That's a real good question. I would answer it if I had some kind of clue what solenoid you were trying to change.

The check engine light on my 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe is on, it show that it is a P 0500 speed sensor, what is this? Is it expensive to repair?

This will be an error in the right front wheel speed sensor.. It should be relatively easy to change.. I can follow up with a cost but a call to your local parts supply dealer should get you that info..Best of Luck..

My 2004 santa fe has 65k miles on it. Should it need ALL new breaks and the timing chain replaced as a garage claims? Also, replacing the timing chain costs $2800 according to the garage, and the breaks...

I would shop around $2800 sounds way too high!!! $1700 for breaks $425 per wheel you can do way better than that!!! If you have rear drums they last at least 2X front disc, call around you should't pay more than $1000 for 4 wheel disc. You are due for timing belt, you have time to shop around for better price.
Good Luck!

Power steering is stiff on 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe and it is making loud noise. We checked the fluid and it is full.

hi you have checked p/steering fluid have you checked the pump drive belt ? it may be loose/worne out and in need of replacement? also more important ? when did you last check tyre pressures honestly ??? these are the 1st things to check at least weekly ? considering age of vehicle and probable milage? if the belt/s have not been renewed ? might be worth doing? before failure when you are on freeway ? you can diy belts saving $$$$s garage cost/labour charge and you can purchase from most good motor stores/factors instead of dealers prices ?

How much does it cost to fix a crankshaft position sensor?

First...at LEAST $89.00 an hour....second....takes 5-10 minutes to change...and then at LEAST $50 and up for diagnostics (to check it out before and after installation)....oh yeah, the part!!! It costs less than $40 but they'll charge you almost double....

So...as a guess by most garages...over $200!

Here is the steps for removing and replacing:

Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the connector from the sensor.
  3. Remove the retaining bolts.
  4. Remove the sensor from its mounting.
To install:
  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2. Clearance between the sensor and the sensor wheel should be 0.020–0.059 inch.
This is a REALLY easy job. I would do this myself and save a LOT of money.

Blower fan won't shut off its or climate control fan keeps running 2003 hyundai santa fe

Probably a stuck fan control relay.
Find the relay and remove it - if this stops the fan. replace the relay with a new one.

2003 Santa fe timing belt change

You can drive it till it breaks of course, that will cost much more then replacing it as maintenance though. I would plan to have it changed much sooner then later as you are already past your recomended service time.
