Question about 1995 Toyota Tercel
My daughter has the same problem and I called Autozone to see if they had the free code reader, they said since it is a 95 that it needs a OBD-I reader, because it is prior to 96

You need to have someone with an OBDII scan tool scan the codes there is no way to know why the light is on but I assure you its NOT NOT NOT an oil change and I seriously doubt a tune-up will do it a sensor or component that is directly related to the emissions system has failed and the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT is a warning that you car is not emissions compliant anymore until you fix the problem that is causing the vehicle to put out too much pollutants from the exhause due to poor combustion like too much fuel and the car cannot effeciently burn it and the excess is possuting the air or there is a problem with the Evaporative emissions system that controls fuel vapors from entering the air through a broken line or failed component.
If this ifnormation is helpful please give me a good rating,Thank You,Randy
