Hello there

This is a pretty broad description but i would have changed the camshaft sensor first as it controls spark more so when moving at higher rpms. That being said also check your spark make sure spark plugs are firing a bright blue spark no orange that is not hot enough to ignite vapor properly.

With all that would not hurt to check fuel pressure you can rent the pressure gage at autozone for about 150 and get it back when the tool is returned.

If i can elaborate more let me know if not i hope it helps could you please leave 4 thumbs up it really helps me help you all thanks

Periodic stalling after running for awhile . when the key is turned on no power to the fuel pump. After setting a few minutes key is turned back on there is power to the fuel pump and starts

The fuel pump only turns on for 2sec when key is turned on for a fuel pump prime. The fuel pump will turn back on during engine cranking. The most likely cause of stalling on this particular vehicle is a weak/bad crank sensor.

have the OBD codes read as there are a few things it could be , the OBD will give you a code number that relates to a sensor/switch that is causing the problem , will save you time and money searching blind for the solution , i'd guess at the crank or cam sensor or the coil pack ,but the codes will confirm

Question: where did you buy the new crank position sensor? I had the exact same problem with my 2004 Nissan Altima and bought new crank position sensor from one of the auto parts store. Put it in and same problem. I was baffled. Finally decided to get the crank position sensor directly from the dealer. Fixed the problem. This was my experience, not sure if your case will be the same.

Car runs but sometimes dies as your going along wait a few minutes and it starts and runs again

Seen this many times on Grand Cherokees. The crank sensor is going bad. Replace it with a dealer crank sensor, not an aftermarket one.

I have a 1992 Pontiac Bonneville. The car idles rough and idles at about 600rpm which seems a little low to me. Also it will stall after driving it for 15-20 minutes. After stalling it usually will not...

sulfer smell would be your egr valve not working. as far as stalling check the signal at crank sensor . also when your checking, maybe replacing the sensor check and make sure your harmonic balancer isn't broke. check rubber mounting surface for any melting and stuff like that..

Van runs good then stalls out. then hard to start. If i let it sit for 5 minutes it starts again no problem. Then stalls again shortly there after.

This sounds like a failing camshaft position sensor and weak crank shaft sensor .When crank shaft sensor gets weak it will stop functioning. When crank shaft sensor stops working then ECM will not control fuel system and the fuel will stop flowing. And this can cause the problem. When crank shaft sensor gets heated it will stop working, but when the car shuts off, the sensor gets cold and works for few minutes and sensor again gets hot and it stalls. ---------- Get the crank shaft sensor tested on your Chevrolet venture. ---------- There are many other possibilities for this stalling problem, but crank shaft problem is indicating in your case. Location and difficulty of replacing crank sensor on 92 park avenue? auto stalls out, farts, back fires? replaced water pump hose connecter that screws into block from top of water pump outlet? took out...

This could be one of many issues (or more than one!). When you say runs for 5 minutes, does it just stall? overheats? Probably not the crank sensor since when they go they go and engine will not run. If you can get it to Autozone or borow a diagnostic tool may be able to find an avenue to persue. My first thought is fuel from what you describe, fuel filter, fuel pump, injectors.

1992 olds 88 stalls. after it sits for a half

Is the Service Engine Soon (or Check Engine) light illuminated on the instrument panel? If so, then have someone pull the codes and post them back here. Autozone will do this for you at no cost.Caution: don't purchase any parts after reading the codes on their recommendation! If no codes, then suspect either a bad crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor. There are other possibilities too, but these are primary. I have seen MANY bad crank sensors do exactly what your describe without setting a code.

2000 buick lesabre stall after starting or after running for 30 minutes

I have a 1996 Lesabre. I had a similar problem that slowly got worse. I brought it to two different mechanics that did diagnostic checks and could only "suggest" what to replace to fix the problem. Their problem was that it wouldnt stall out while they had the mv. After replacing a bunch of sensors and the fuel pump/ filter, I solved the problem by replacing the Crank Sensor. Its located behind the lower crank pulley on the 3.8 lt motor. Hope this helps!
