That would depend on the thermostat. If it's an 180 degree thermostat...it'll run at 180. Since it's a '96 I'd venture a guess that it has probably been changed at least once. Maybe not. Soooo, It should probably run right around there if the thermostat is a factory equivalent. I hope that helps. You may be able to call an auto parts store and ask what the options are for the thermostat and base it on their answers. I am not sure your car has a carrier bearing, but if it did it would be located on the drive shaft between the transmission and rear end of the car.

There is no adjustment for a 96 camaro. It has coil packs, the computer adjusts it to what it needs. Why are you wanting to adjust it? Is it not running right or just trying to tweek power?

try shifting it manually,if it still doesnt shift through all the gears then someting inside broke loose either torque convertor or the transmission

I have a 96 camaro 3800 v6 it stumbles and misses when taking off and when in full throttle, but once you get past 2000 rpm its fine


4.3L for some reason tend to have problems with the fule pressur regulator. its a smoll round metal valve. you will fined it on the driverside fuel rail. also replace your fule filter and run an injection cleaner through the tank. hope this helps.

I have a 96 camaro 3.8 v6. The car will start and run fine but when i come to a stop it will not idle and dies. Does anyone have any idea?


sounds like the injectors are dirty could be a bad idle sensor also, try a can o 'seafoam' at auto parts store. no injector clenor either just seafoam
