Take it in & have it scanned, may only be a faulty solenoid or even brake switch may cause code & symptoms. Sooner you get it in, the cheaper it will probably be to repair it

SOURCE: Errors P1684 given, how do I fix

The first code, p1684, just states the battery has been dis-connected in the last 50 start cycles.
Code p0401 is the EGR flow. You may need to replace the EGR valve.
Code p1193 is the intake air temperauture ( IAT) sensor. It may also need to be replaced.
Have your mechanic take a look at those, and please let me know how it goes.

SOURCE: '05 PT Cruiser O2 sensor problems.

I had a similar problem with my car. It turned out the O2 sensors were fine and the issue was a leak in the throttle body causing the engine to run lean. If you have an ODB2 scanner you can look at fuel trims, etc and will be able to tell.

I have a 2004 pt cruiser. Each week it dies. Something to do with the oxygen sensor. Mechanic said I needed to have the computer reflashed? Any thoughts? Could this be the problem?

if you have replaced the sensor you will need to have the comp cleared some times the comp will hold the error code even though the part is new it will still read as faulty .a simple clearing of the codes should fix the problem.
