Question about Dodge Caravan
The location of the coolant temperature sensor depends on which engine your vehicle is equipped with.
If you have the 2.5L 4-Cylinder engine, it is located in the cylinder head next to the ignition coil.
On the 3.0L and 3.3L V-6 engines it is located next to the thermostat housing (follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the thermostat housing). It just screws in and looks like the picture below.
NOTE: If the radiator cooling fans are not working, there are several things that could be causing the problem. The coolant temperature sensor operation should be verified using a scan tool that can display the data from the coolant temperature sensor and comparing the reading with the actual temperature of the engine using an infrared thermometer or a pyrometer.
