Question about 1999 Cadillac DeVille

1 Answer

1999 Cadillac DeVille Concours is overheating. I don't see any leakage from the hoses or the raditator, but the a/c is sucking the steam inside the interior of the car and fogging up the windows. How do you disconnect the HVAC blower motor?

Its not the a/c. The heater core has a hole in it. This is what is causing the steam.

HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR COOLANT HOSES? CHECK TO MAKE SURE THERE NOT LOOSE OR CRACKED. ANOTHER THING COULD BE IS YOUR HEATER CORE HOSES COULD BE BAD. ALSO I WOULD CHECK YOUR RADIATOR CAP THE SEAL COULD BE BAD. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU WITH YOUR TROUBLESHOOTING.

If my 1999 cadillac deville goes up to 232 degrees is it overheating?

Outside of radiator is most likely full of dirt, leaves,
bird feathers,etc.
Remove as many things as necessary, & use an air hose
followed by garden hose to clean radiator.

Could try a new thermostat & make sure spark plugs
& basic preventative maintenance is done

Change Power Steering,Trans & Motor Oils
Old fluids won't remove heat well

is the cooling fan operating properly(on and off at proper temps),does the rad have a flow problem this can cause it as well.you don`t say when and how long it takes to overheat.sitting idling for long periods of time, driving in the city only,on the highway, coming off the highway, only on acceleration, only with the a/c on.all these factors can make a difference in finding the problem.have you told the shop when and how its overheating.you may have to drive it under the same situation to get it to over heat and take it to the dealer and have them check it out when its happening or take it to a shop as dealer techs won`t spend as much time on it as they should because they are paid flat rate and if nothing shows in short order they kick it out the door and move onto a paying job.

Why is my cadillac rear so low

You may have a leak in the rear air bags or the compressor for the air bags is not working, listen when you turn on the key to see if you can hear the compressor run ,if you do then likely the bags,if not then likely the compressor.

On my car, which is the same as yours, it is located on the manifold top back left. Pictures in the book just show it on top.
