My 2002 ranger just started to cut off while driving.

Without running some tests on the engine it is hard to say what could be causing the problem, Check the fuel pressure, and the crank sensor, which is located near the vibration damper on the front of the engine at the crankshaft. If the wiring is broken or the connector is loose, the problem will be intermittent. If it does it more when it is raining, then the sensor could be taking on some moisture. If the fuel pump is going bad, it could stop from the lack of fuel pressure. There is a test port on the fuel rail on top of the engine. Some look like a tire valve. you can use a good tire guage to check the pressure. But do it quickly as it will expell fuel when you put the guage on to the port. Have someone turn the key on and off while you are testing it. I wouldn't start the engine because of the fire hazard it would create. I hope this helps. Good Luck

Starts and dies right away, intermittent fuel guage

If initial indications sound like a buoy gasoline and extenders and gasoline injection system in the compartments, the problem is in the power feeder wires or in the Bawa-jee or in the combustion chambers of electricity and gasoline. This prevented Mator that it does not appear any kind of Leak of oil and water.
So observed in the case of operating the initial car exhaust fumes if the color was black injection system maintenance problem but if the sky was the color of this is evidence that the oil spill to the combustion chambers.

1998 ford contour....engine temp guage will suddenly stop working.....thern later comes back on. Engine does not seem to be overheating. Also speedometer stops working intermittently...sometimes comes back...

This could be a loose wire in your instrument cluster. I had the same problem with my S-10, but mine was a little bit worse. I have replaced the instrument cluster (17 dollars at the local junkyard), and everything works fine.

Mercedes-Benz C280, 1995, main instruments work intermittently

A cheap solution is to remove the IOD fuse (under hood in power distrabution center) for a few minutes, which resets the BCM.
