Volkswagen polo classic 1998 drivers door lock turns 360 and pin does not down try to lock from passenger side but other 3 pins go down and back up again so car not locking at all??

the cabin air filter is behind the glove box .take the car to mr lube because it is tricky.

Before you replace anything, inspect the connector pins in both the driver's door switch and the passenger door switch. If you don't find any problem with these connector pins, replace the driver's door control switch.

pls. check the relay or fuse that controls the motor function of ur sliding roof and window/ if relay and fuse is ok? check the electrical supply if ok then the motor is fried....

water ingress in wiring loom below drivers seat, mainly loss of power to pin 23 middle multi plug blue and red wire middle multi plug.

remove drivers seat/frame trace wire back to corroded connection and repair. you may also have to remove passenger seat depending on where the break is. dealer quotes upto 2 hrs

Mine is doing the exact same.

Have two solutions, will try it later today:

1. Unlock with remote tnen lock with key and then unlock with key.
2. Might be a power problem, check that batery is good.

Get it bypassed ask for a good auto electrition.He will sort that out for you.hope that was usefull

I removed all 3 switches from driver and passenger door, which is really easy with a flat head screw driver. took them completely apart, very carefully, with a small screwdriver out of a christmas cracker. put them back together again and 2 switches started working, so I put 1 in the drivers side and 1 in the passengers side so now my drivers door window opens and I lean over to open the passenger door. cool, no money spent...yet ;o)
