Knocking noise from rear end

If car is rear wheel drive.....Check you Universal joints on your driveshaft

Could also be Trailing Arm bushings.if you have coil Springs on your rear axle. These bushings keep the axle from rotating. So when you do that Clutch jumpy thing the axle is trying to rotate and with bad bushings it could be 'banging'

Knocking noise on right back wheel of audi

First the obvious, are the lug bolts all tight? If so then I'd look for a loose joint on the rear tie rod or a worn outer joint bushing on the upper control arm. If noise occurs while rolling slowly then it might be a worn CV joint in the drive axle.

My1992olds cutlass supreme makes a knocking noise coming from back rear while driving it stops when I brake a few times what could this be

Your half way there, you have isolated the symptom and area in question. Next step is to raise the rear wheels off the ground, use jack stands in place for safety, remove rear wheels and brake drums and inspect both sides for anything that looks out of place.

Knocking sound coming from left rear wheel when making a right turn

sounds like you have a wheel bearing going out. Do yourself a favor and make sure you have all your windows down and someone else to listen for the noise besides yourself just to make sure which wheel the noise is actually coming from

How to identify source of rumbling noise when car is moving.

My daughter has a 2001 Focus with similar sound, problem.  Just drove it from Portland Oregon to Newport Oregon approx. 140 miles.  Hwy. 20 the route from I-5 to the coast has some pretty sharp corners.  There was this knot head behind me tailgating.  So,coming into the sharp corners I decided to accelerate hard through the corners to gain some distance away from the guy.  Well guess what?  45-50 mph into a 25 mph right hand corner and the noise totally stopped for a few seconds.  I did this again and the same thing...no noise! So, on the next left hand corner I powered into it. The noise increased.  I had the back seats down as well, carting a surf board, which allowed the noise level to be established that it was from the rear of the car.  With the seats up it was impossible to tell where the noise was coming from; But down clearly from the rear.  Now, going through those sharp corners, the right hand corner throws weight to the left front wheel and the right rear tire tends to lift releasing weight pressure on the bearing resulting in the no noise event.  Thus I am absolutely convinced that it is a bearing failure in the passenger side rear wheel. Quit by accident to have stumbled onto this today...amazing!  Now, Looking for directions on how to replace the bearing which is how I stumbled onto this post.  Have a good one!!!

4x4 light and knocking noise after driving

If you hear the noise after the engine is turned off that noise is most likely the exhaust system cooling down. As far as the light for the 4 wheel drive that requires a test be run with a special scan tool while the problem is occurring.
