How many gallons does the gas tank hold on a 1997 scout 162 boat

Hi James:
I tried to track this down without success.
If it were me and I really needed to know I would fill a spare outboard tank and put it in the boat and then go and play until the boat coughed and ran out of fuel.
-I'd then connect the engine to the spare tank and continue to play or go home depending on how far away I was.
- Once at a fueling station, I'd fill the tank, and record the amount of fuel needed.
- It can also be a good idea to check the actual amount of fuel consumed (determined by how many gallons to fill the tank) against hours running at different speeds, and also the gas gauge indication when on the step and at idle.
- My personal rule????? never trust the gas gauge, and always start with a full tank.

Ran out of gas in 2003 Mitsubishi galant . Filled tank with gas & added fuel injector cleaner. Car is jumping & jerking like it was when it ran out of gas. Still runs rough even after using 1/4 tank of...

Change your fuel filter. Running the tank empty will pull any sediment that has accumulated in the bottom of the tank into the fuel system. There is a good chance your filter is clogged and not letting enough fuel to the engine.

2003 Chevrolet Silverado 4.3 V6 with MFI. Engine ran not start.

Well it could be numerous if things but you want suggestions...So here's mine..Your gas tank might be vapor locked...This is caused from over filling your gas tank with gas over the years..Its when the pressure in your gas tank becomes greater than your fuel pump. It wont start until the pressure in your gas tank becomes lower then you fuel pump...Sounds crazy...This got me once...I didn't understand it...A lot of people (including me) Go to the gas station and get that extra 50 cent after the gas nozzle clicks off...over time that extra gas will run down the vapor lines intended to burn fumes....Like when you fill a gas can to cut your grass...If you sake the gas can it builds pressure and bows up. But with time that pressure will go away...Well saying that...Your gas tank needs to vent to....So your car burns not only gas but fumes...If you keep over filling your car with the extra gas it cloggs up your vapor canister intended for fumes or vapors...The gas will will go into that canister and clogg up the charcoal that's inside it. (Breaks it down) then the vapors can't get to your carburetor where it supposed to burns it. So what happens is the pressure in the gas tank becomes greater than your fuel pump and then car won't start..Are you with me? Lol Its crazy..Putting a different gas cap can cause the same thing...Simple test...When you open your gas cap to get gas.. Do you heat air sucking in.. Yes you can hear it....A lot of times loosening the cap let's the pressure out and the car will start right up.....Thus might not be your problem but worth telling at the gas pumps to other people..... Just trying to help

Ran out of Gas .Filled Gas Tank car ran till the next day. Tried to start and it would not start???? 2007 Cobolt NEED HELP Rich

Could've burnt up the pump running it dry and filling it up. The cold gas may have damaged the pump when you filled it. Check your fuel pressure to be sure.

Remove back seat to get to gas tank to see if feul pump is working

If you ran the car out of gas, there is a very good chance that the fuel pump is dead. Gas is coolant for for the pump like anifreeze is for the engine. The pump has now been overheated and will need to be replaced. You must drop the tank to do this and I hope you did not fill the tank. It is a very good idea to never run your fuel tank below 1/4 because you stress the pump if you do.

Sounds like fuel pump burned out when you ran out of gas. probably ran dry for about 20 sec till engine quit. Check for power to fuel pump in tank. Most likely fuel pump will need replacement . Hope this helps

it sounds like you plugged your injecters put some STP gas treatment with injecter cleaner into the gas tank with at least a half a tank of gas and then finish filling it up and if this helps also replace the fuel filter
