Question about Cadillac Seville

1 Answer

My 1999 cadillac seville doesn't blow cold air (with A/C on or even just the vent) anymore. I"ve had it filled with freon so that isn't the issue. I was advised it was my blend motor and that is a $100 part but a $700 install. I appreciate any light you can shed on this situation for me. I appreciate your time in this matter...

Actually the part is as cheap as $25-ut the bad news is they arent lying. It`s a 507 hr job to replace the heater blend door because you have to just about take the car apart to get to it. Sorry.

When the compressor kicks on, is the air from the vents blowing cold? If the air isn't blowing cold, then your problem could be that you may have water in the system. I had a '93 Chevy Z71 that wouldn't blow cold and thats what my problem was. System needs to be evacuated and refilled. Good luck bro.

The two vents on driver side of car blows hot air when air conditioning is on

I believe that your Seville has dual climate controls. So it sounds like a "Blend Door Actuator" problem. It's stuck and so it's not adjusting the mix of warm or cold air; that's how temperatures are controlled in your A/C heat system. Fault code(s) stored in the HVAC control module should be available to assist with diagnoses. AutoZone will perform a free diagnostic scan.

1999 temperature control will not regulate heat/air

This is likely caused by a failed or jammed electric air temerature control blend door actuator and or a warped and jammed blend door.

The o-rings are leaking..if you put a new compressor in, it is wise to service the whole system...especially if you are changing any major components.

The air conditioning isn't blowing cold air anymore. It takes a while for it to get Cold, it blows cool air but not cold.

My name is Ron,and I have one solution,Sounds like you need some freon added,if that doesn`t fix ya ,the ac compressor could be weak,or blockage in ac system,or vent door not opening,or opening slowly, and not all the way...hope this helps,roniecon@gmail.com

99 STS AC is blowing hot air

I had the same problem but it was blowing hot air on the passenger side of the car. I assume you have the dual zone controls that I have as well. The problem is most likely the damper that controls the flow of hot and cold air into the car. The motorized component of the damper is most likely not working and its stuck in the hot air position.

I had mine replaced by a repair shop so I cant tell you how to replace it but it may be something that you can do if you have the time and patience to work on it.

Good luck
