Question about 2007 Nissan Versa 1.8 Sl Hatchback

I have a problem with my AC, it makes temperature high when it is On, but actually this is not my problem.. I went to a mechanical & he said he have to remove the batteries to have some space to work on it, but he asked me if I have the Audio system code, cause it is needed after removing & fixing the battery, but I didn't now how to find it in Nissan Catalog, Please help me. i.e: I am not the first owner of the car.& it is Nissan Versa 2007

2012 traverse, air conditioner kicking off temperture is hot ,went to auto zone and they put on computer . no codes showed up any help


May be pressure related. They have a pressure sensor that stops the compressor if the pressure gets high. People sometimes make the mistake of adding too much when messing with the AC. Get a qualified mechanic that can work on AC and check the pressure to inspect it.

Started the car and the A/C motor speed went to high and stayes there.

The fans wont stay to cool the engine


Engine is supposed to be between 180 and 200 degrees, and the fans are supposed to go off under 200.
That is very close to boiling.
So what makes you think the fans should stay on?
Have you actually used a thermometer or does the gauge go too high?
If the fans ever go on, then we know the fans and relay work.
The next suspect would be the temperature sensor in the radiator.
But try turning on the AC. That should force the fans to stay on.

How many pounds of r134 and how much oil ozs.


somewhere around 1.6 pounds (1lb.14ounces) of R134a if system is evacuated and 3 ounces of oil with new compressor.
keep pressure on the low side around 34-37psi & it should blow snow. Below are normal car AC pressure readings with 134A.
  • Normal readings on high and low side with AC OFF (static pressure) – Depends on outside temperature, but normally is between 80-105 PSI
  • Normal low side reading with AC on high speed and MAX & engine at 800-1000 RPM’s – Ranges from 25-35 PSI –
  • Normal high side reading ranges from 200-350 PSI
Don’t assume that if adding little Freon is good that adding a lot is better! Overcharging just a little can decrease the performance of the system and possibly damage the compressor.
DIY recharge kit:
With the AC on the coldest setting, use a thermometer in a middle vent. Normal vent temperature readings will vary depending on the (ambient) outside temp. The vent temperature should range from around 42-55 degrees in my experience. If normal gauge readings are obtained and the vent air is cold – STOP don’t overcharge the system.

A/c recharge what is thew psi for refrigerant


Below are normal car AC pressure readings with 134A.

Normal readings on high and low side with AC OFF (static pressure) – Depends on outside temperature, but normally is between 80-105 PSI

Normal low side reading with AC on high speed and MAX & engine at 800-1000 RPM’s – Ranges from 25-35 PSI

Normal high side reading ranges from 200-350 PSI
Don’t assume that if adding little Freon is good that adding a lot is better! Overcharging just a little can decrease the performance of the system and possibly damage the compressor.

With the AC on the coldest setting, use a thermometer in a middle vent. Normal vent temperature readings will vary depending on the (ambient) outside temp. The vent temperature should range from around 42-55 degrees in my experience.

If normal gauge readings are obtained and the vent air is cold – STOP don’t overcharge the system. The only proper way to remove refrigerant is with a AC recovery machine so if this is being done at home I can’t emphasize enough not to over charge the system.

Air conditioner compressor runs - freon is up to proper level....not cooling??


BOTH High and low readings should be checked to have a better idea of what is going on with an AC system but based on the limited information… the compressor is not engaged or is not pumping. Below are some things I would check;

1. Check the high and low gauge readings with the AC on & set on MAX/Recirculate, middle vents with the engine at 2,000 RPM’s, blower speed on high.

2. Check the vent temperatures with a thermometer from the middle vents, far right & far left vents?

3. What is the outside temperature at the time the readings were taken?
4. Check to see if the condenser fan blowing strong?

5. Notice if compressor clutch is cylcling excessively.
Could be overcharged, not enough air going across condenser fins, compressor not pumping sufficiently… BOTH gauge readings are really needed to get a better idea.

Two questions on my 1999 gmc suburban K1500: 1) The 4wd switch has no power (no lights lit) and will not switch. Its in 2WD now, but will not make any differential changes. Looking for troubleshooting...


common for the 4WD switch it self to go bad, what happens is the connection in the switch solider goes bad from the heat and current draw from the light. Inspect the switch and repair any signs of damage or replace the switch in the dash.
Below are normal car AC pressure readings with 134A.

My airconditioner is blowing hot air. The mechanic said that the compressor is not broken. He needed to find the lower side pressure valve to kick the compressor on so it would stay on. Where is the valve?


If it is the 3.5 litre it has a triple switch located on the top of the dryer that switch is actually the high pressure switch the low pressure switch and medium when the pressure is medium or you jump it than fans will kick on high he is right about the thermistor for the evaporator he should just apply 12volts to the compressor to see if the coil on the compressor is bad all three are common problems not knowing where the switch is makes me wonder if he even checked the relay or how he knows the compressor isnt bad

Ac compressor took one can of freon will not take other also it still is not cool


You may have over charged the system, An over charged system will also give you poor A/C performance and worst can lead to expensive repair if the compressor get's damaged.

The only proper way to remove refrigerant is with a AC recovery machine so if this is being done at home I can’t emphasize enough not to over charge the system. And actually the best way to insure the proper charge is in a system, is to use an AC machine to recover the freon and then evacuate and recharge the system with the correct amount. Most cars have the specified amount on a decal under the hood.
