Your best bet would be to buy a full service repair manual for your vehicle so you'll always have it when you need to do work on the vehicle. Hayes and Chilton publish and sell full service manuals.

My 1996 Mitsubishi Montero will start but not idle at all once driven. My father-in-law suggests adding some Sea-foam to the vacuum hose and the gas tank to help. My question is; where do I find the...

Back in the good old days, engines had various vac hoses that controlled other devices including the PCV valve. The idea was to use one of the vac hoses to pull SeaFoam directly into the intake and help clean deposits off the intake valves.
Today's engines have very few such hoses.
And in your case, the problem is probably dirty injectors or the throttle body itself.
So I would put the seafoam in the gas tank, but also check the throttle body to see if it is gummed up. You can use spray carb cleaner if it needs to be cleaned.

Tuned-Port Injection problem

If foreign matter is inside the intake manifold the intake manifold must be removed to clear out all debre or damage to the intake valves and pistons will occur, use a strong vacuum and a long magnet to extract any debree from the intake ports after removing the intake manifold, and then blow out all passages on the intake manifold itself with compressed air to remove debre before reinstalling the intake manifold, make sure you drain the coolant before removing the intake manifold also before attempting this job it is a good idea to purchase a Haynes repair manual to walk you through the procedure.

From what I have been reading online... The upper and middle manifold MUST be removed to get to the spark plugs to change them. 3 hour job minimum. should cost between $300 and $500.
