Question about 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid

1 Answer

2010 Mercury Milan hybrid. Off road a month for left side body work, until yesterday. Now on driving at highway speeds for a while the throttle control warning light goes on, and when gas pedal is pressed the accelerator seems to pulse on and off. Collision shop spoke with dealer, they said probably a dirty throttle body. If so, I think it may be from sitting too long. Can I just put injector cleaner in tank or similar product for throttle body, and keep going?

Injector cleaner is a waste of money and
doesn't repair or resolve anything

Think about 10 oz in an 18 gallon tank
Won't do much

It is new & under warrantee, let the dealer worry
about it.

Wheres the fuel filter for a 2010 Mercury Milan

Should be part of fuel pump assembly. I looked at an online partsbook for your vehicle--2.5L engine--didn't show fuel filter. That usually means, the filter is part of fuel pump assemble.
Have you checked for applicable trouble codes? Your saying it stalls every couple of miles?

The PO 316 is still misfires om first 1000 revolutions
so the shop did a poor job for you on resolveing the
cylinder misfires

Try a diffferent shop

Have to clean the MAF Sensor & replace upstream
oxygen sensors if over 100,000 miles

Need the correct oem spark spark plugs/any brand

No reason the gas filter should be clogged unless it was in
the car for 10 years

Fuel pressure should be checked

Need to check for cylinder misfires on a road test of 20
miles or more with professional software in Mode#06

2011 Mercury Milan LED tail light out

Yes, I have a 2011 Milan as well and both sides of mine went out. One last year (2013) and the other side recently. My car is no longer under warranty and the dealer said they it would be $417 to repair. Ford needs to fix this issue because from what I have been reading it is a common problem and it is a safety issue!

Is ir normal to replace rear brakes on a 2010 mercury milan with only 22,300 miles? 15-16,000 of the miles are highway miles

The rear brakes should last 70,000 miles, if
you disassemble,clean & lube once a year,
on the rear of most all cars

My question is --- have you not had years or decades
of experience with other vehicles?
If so, why would you ask that question?

After a two-hour drive (all on highways) using the cruise control on a 2007 Mercury Milan, I stopped several times at lights, etc., going thru town. At about the third light, the cruise control came on...

Automotive electrical systems are very complicated and can it can be very hard to diagnose problems. That being said anything can be fixed. Your car is almost new and still under warranty, take it back to the dealer and explain any and all problems you are having, the dealer is required to repair your car. If your dealer refuses to repair your car, go to a different one and file a complaint with ford customer care. (the 1800 number can be found in the booklets or manual that came with your car.
