With a similar problem, but sometimes had fake explosions, you change the camshaft sensor which is near the valbula PCV. and stay well.

I don't know specifically what the codes are (you could probably google them) but I had this similar issue with a Chrysler and it turned out to be the TCU (transmission control unit) computer. Hope that's NOT it because it was around $800 for me.

My 2003 Dodge neon shakes pretty violently while in idle. The acceleration is also off, yesterday I tried to pull out of a gas station and it wouldn't accelerate past 10mph until i hit the brake a

Before you start checking and touching sesitive parts such as map sensors, and 02sensors, or even think of buying $40.00 - $100.00 parts, I'd suggest you scan over all of your vacume lines(hoses), just in case one of them has a hole, cut, or torn. That's what I experienced. My 84 GMC pick-up didn't pass inspection because the check engine light on, and idle was rough and shaking. Everyone was suggesting same parts as here, on my expense. I was a little sceptical on guessing $40.00-$100.00 parts. So the next day I was looking at my engine, and heard a small hissing noise. I followed the noise, and low and behold! A torn 1/2"x 3"-90 digree, $5.00 vacume hose, that was resting above the hot valve cover. Had a small burnt hole. I replaced it,disconnected battery, drove the truck about 45 miles. No ckeck eng. light, smooth idle, and past inspection. Good luck, Frank.

Hi, My name is Norma. I drive a 2005 Dodge Neon. The oil can light on the dash board keeps turning on... I drive for a few miles and on a stop sign or red light when I press the brakes that's when...

Is your oil level low? If your oil pressure is low as indicated by the light, you will do serious damage to your engine if you continue to drive without repairing the fault. The fault could run the gamut from a loose oil pickup, to a bda oil pump to bad bearings.

Driving home, 2003 Dodge neon starts to slow down, oil light has come on intermittedenly before, engine started to lose power, brakes locked up, and steering wheel locked up. Car had to be towed. Thanks.

lets hope its not a bad motor from lack of oil pressure, the loss of brakes and steering is due to the engine stopped running this is normal, but hte oil light coming on with the engine running is not good, you will need to see if the engine spins and trys to start, this will tell you a little bit, if it spins then it didnt lock up, and maybe its a fuelpump or timing belt that let go, you will have to do some testing ,check for fuel pressure and spark at the plugs,

How do I turn off the oil light indicator for a 2002 dodge neon

You need to find out why the low oil pressure light is on. Either you are low of oil, the oil pump is not working properly, or the oil pressure sending unit is defective. Fix the problem and the light will go out. Do NOT start this engine until you find the cause of this. Low oil pressure will destroy this engine.

Oil light comes on, and a bell rings after engine is warm, when I come to a stop...

Sounds like oil pressure is dropping low enough at idle to trigger these alerts.

You need to investigate this ASAP before you lose the engine too lack of oil pressure.

Where is the oil pump on a 2004 Dodge Neon?

Oil light that comes on while in idle means the oil pump screen is clogged or damaged, cause low oil pressure to the engine. That part is only $30. It could be a bad oil pump though, if that is the case the pump can run you $100. Either way you need to get it fixed ASAP it can cause major damage to the engine in a very short period of time!
