I can not find an exploded diagram to show clutch and pressure plate replacement.where can I get one for a 1988 Chevy nova 1.6 liter 5 speed manual

Try HAYNES REPAIR is a very simple job on that type of vehicle if you have
a service lift or a good set of tall ramps,,,I am sure Haynes should have it but finding the same year model Is hard to say.......But most clutch jobs on rear wheel drives arent that hard if you have the
tools and a trans jack and a good safe way to raise the vehicle................If you cant find one I will give you easy step by step instructions.......I am certified...27 yrs of service work auto/ med. heavy of luck..........................................Metalpoet

Heavy knocking in the engine

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. This is not a good thing. If you have heavy knocking in the engine, you probably have a major problem inside the engine. Make sure the vehicle has oil in it, the correct amount. You need to have it looked at as soon as possible. The longer you go with it knocking, the bigger chance you have of making things worse. You could have a piston knocking or a cracked head. There really is no easy fix to this situation. The engine will need looked at by a mechanic. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks for using FixYa and have a good evening.

If you have a minor leak you may be able to cure it with AT205, a seal swell made by the ATP company. I have seen this seal swell do miracles with many different fluid leaks - it is not cheap but if it can't fix it, only a wrench can!!! I suggest adding at least 2 pints to your motor and see if it stops it. Failing that, the job is relatively easy if you have a lift and the proper tools. If no lift, but a concrete floored garage, it is not so bad with a rolling floor jack. Alignment is always a problem so removing the bolts for the motor mounts and having 2 rolling jacks will help lots - although I do not envy you this job! Thanks for using Fixya!!

My o/d light is flashing any ideas of what could be wrong?

Probably a dirty NSS (Neutral safety switch), usually located on the drivers side of the transmission. easy to remove and clean. but be careful not to break it. around $200 to replace.
Hope this helps.

If I have helped you resolve your problem, please
consider giving me a good rating and a quick
thanks or good job.It will help me as well Thank

Rear disc brakes - 2000 Chev Impala - Calipers won't open enough

How did you depress the pistons? Did you use a heavy duty Air tool clamp? I'v done brake jobs in my driveway using basic cheep clamps and only manpower. Been successful. Also done total ceased you would not believe Just took Some Nasty brute force and the right tool You should be good to go.

Steering really heavy on my renault master van

Sounds very much like a loose, or split pulley drive belt.

Open the bonnet and check, I am pretty sure this is where the problem lies.

You just need a new belt !

Good Luck !

Please give me a FixYa rating Please !
