The TPS goes right across from the throttle cable on the throttle body. Please rate this. Hope this helps, James Booth

I should be a spokesperson for the "Haynes manual", I have come to find out that's the best book for any vehicle owner. It actually tells you exactly what the codes are for. You can get one st any auto store like advanced auto, auto zone store. It goes by the year and model of your vehicle and it like my car bible, it tells you so much about trouble shooting, trouble codes and how to replace and tear down everything.

Is the throttle plate closed all the way? The 4v wide open is a little low and the .6 closed maybe a little high. The wide open should be 4.5 -5 v. Are you reading 5v at the tps plug with the plug unplugged from the tps? Pretty much , what is going in should be close to what wide open should be.

Took off TPS? to clean up. Replaced with new gasket now motor will turn over but not start. Have spark, no fuel. 1992 vette. Do I need to reset computer? Unplugged IAC and MaF and tried to start. No go....

could have damaged the tps. if the tps shorts out and shows like its full throttle, it goes into clear flood mode and shuts down the injectors. try unplugging the tps and try to start. it it starts, replace the tps.

My RPM is sometimes way too high on my 2000 Grand Am GT V6

There are a couple possibilities for this. One, the IAC (Idle Air Control) motor may be bad. But Ive also seen this happen when the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) goes bad. However, when the TPS goes bad there is usually some changes in the way the car shifts (automatic tranny), delayed shifts, hard shifts, etc.
