GTP. Why did speedometer quit working?

The problem may lie in the driver side panel where the wire chassis attaches to the fuse box. Had same problem with 2005 Pontiac Grand Am. I just moved it around and I got my gauges back. Only other option is going to be the speedometer sensor that sits where the older model cars had the cable speedometer mount. Getting to the sensor is going to be tough if it needs to be replaced. Pull out your manual and look for speedometer sensor or ctrl sensor panel fuse. It may also be under the hood on the left side towards the driver side door.

Hope this helps.

The speedometer on my 2004 Pontiac Montana quit working. Is there a fuse for that?

Nope. The speedometer needs a signal from the vehicle speed sensor to operate. Is the check engine light on? If so, scan for any codes that may indicate a VSS problem. If no codes, possible internal cluster issue with the speedometer head

Instrument cluster failure causes fuse #29 to blow.

ok it could be quite simple
lets look at wrong size fuse
example 15 and you need a 25 fuse
also if you did any work on vehicle its quite possible that you grounded something out wrong retrace your work and fix accordingly
bad cluster relay is another problem that would cause these problems
