The a/c compressor won't turn on but if it does it blows cold air. ive checked fuses and relay and they all seem to be good. the guage says it has plenty of gas. Do you think it is a short in the wire somewhere cause i jus replaced the compressor an condensor about 3years ago max.

No your probalbly low on freon.now what do you mean by good with the A/C running the low pressure will read 25-40 PSI cycling. You probably will need a cycling switch it the one right at the low pressure or on the filter drier

I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy (Diamond Edition) that is having intermittent issues with the A/C. It will turn on when the car starts in park, but sometimes when it is put into drive the light on the switch goes...

Could be the A/C relay under the hood in fuse box on driver side, temp selector, (try turning it bad a couple notches), or clogged orifice tube. If there is air in the system it will also cause the compressor to kick on and off. Check your charge with a cheap refill guage. (walmart, parts stores)

Why is my air conditionar not blowing cold air

Sounds like your compressor is not running. It is on the serpentine belt. When it is running it clicks spins and click and stops over over again. Check your relays and fuses before making costly repairs to replace the compressor.

94 Buick Roadmaster AC fan blowing hot and won't shut off

If you have climate control it could be the main processor. Something could be shorting the blower relay to keep it on. You would also need to check and see if the system is still full of freon.

A/c compressor won't kick on

pressure switch, maybe ECM/ECU as well.

AC compressor won't turn on by itself.

I would check the low pressure switch next. The switch cuts power to the compressor if the pressure is too low. The switch can fail.
Same goes for the high pressure safety switch.
As for leaving the relay bypassed, you would need to use a test light or meter to see if you are using battery power with the key off. I would not recommend it.

Fan works, fuse is good, compressor does not click

Could be low on freon, a faulty pressure switch, relay, or fuse.

AC blowing hot air, and won't accept freeon (2004 silverado Z71)

You may have already done this but thought I would throw it out there. Have you checked the fuse for the A/C compressor or the A/C compressor relay? If not just to let you know they are both located in the underhood fuse panel (below is a picture of it). Also below is a siagram of the fuse layout. The fuse with the yellow arrow is the fuse for the compressor and the red arrow is the A/C compressor relay. onther possible things could be a bad pressure switch. Do you have any pressure in there at all? Just a couple of things to check out. I hope this helps and good luck.

I have a 1999 ford expedition and my ac is not cold! I checked fuses and they all seem fine. The ac is blowing but its not cold! How can I tell if its the compressor? Could it just be the a/c clutch...

Hi Kaseyloe, I think that the first thing you should have inspected is the AC gas pressure. If its leaked out, the unit won't run. The clutch of the compressor won't activate. Best take it to a refrigeration company and have them check it for you.

The air conditioning unit won't work. The lights behind the panel light up, and when I turn the air all the way to cold, you can hear a click like it wants to go on, but can't. Do you know how to...

Check the fuse block. Sounds like the compressor fuse is blown. Maybe a 32Amp. It's a biggie. Maybe looks like a black relay in the engine compartment on the left side along with an array of large fuses. You can check the fuse box inside the car as well, but those are controlling smaller items like lights. The big boys are in the engine compartment. Also check for loose wires around the AC compressor and make sure the belt is not broken or missing.
