Question about 2002 Buick Century

1 Answer

The temperature of the car rises to the red line and at the same time the cars heater blows cold air. I've replaced the thermostat it helped at first but started doing the same thing the next morning. I replaced the thermostat again along with the water pump, it worked just fine on the drive home and on the drive to work the next day. On the way home later that day the temp began to rise again, pulled over opened the release valve and got nothing, let it cool for 20 min started it and there was heat and temp was normal. Any suggestions if it fails to work itself out?

You need to get the engine full of coolant. Air is trapped in system. Use bleed valve

Heater isnt blowing warm air in 2003 grand caravan

Assuming the radiator is full of coolant, you are describing a faulty thermostat. The thermostat is closed when the engine is cold to restrict coolant flow until it warms up.

My wife 03 galant's heater is not workin only

Did you replace the thermostat? If it is stuck open the coolant may not get hot enough to be effective.

My heater isnt working, the temperature gage flucuates, and it keeps telling me it has low coolant even though I just added coolant

low coolant sensor is probably just dirty. cold air could also indicate n air bubble in the line. could also be thermostat. try that first.

My temperature indicator dont rise up in the middle

Replace the thermostat with one rated to around 190 degrees or as close to that that you can find,if that does'nt work you need a temperature senser.

Temperature gauge fluctuates and the heater blows cold air

Definitely check your fluid level in your radiator. Top it off all the way. I've seen that happen multiple times on cars that were low on anti-freeze. If that doesn't work try replacing your thermostat. It's cheap and the easiest place to start if topping off the fluid doesn't get you fixed up.

Heater blows cold air

maybe the heater matrix could be at fault, thats the bit that controls the temperature in the car.

Heater only blows cold air

Yes,it rules it out. The valve leading the water into the heater core is not opening or the door that put the air past or through the heater core is closed. This is general information not specific to your particular model.

Overheating and heater not work

there is a valve on the water pump and one on the thermostat housing open those up one at a time until you get a little bit of antifreeze come out then tighten them back up. All you will be doing is bleeding the air out of the cooling system. my car was doing the same thing after I changed my thermostat.
