Question about Pontiac Firebird
Sounds like the starter is hanging in the flywheel instead of disengaging after the engine is running. This could be due to a few different problems, but it's most likely a bad bendix on the starter. You can buy these pretty cheap at any auto parts store and they're simple to replace. Some garages will go ahead and replace the whole starter, but this is unnecessary and costs way more to do so due to the price of the new starter.
