The belt tensioner is usually located towards the top of the motor and is spring loaded. Sometimes there is a square slot in the middle of the tensioner wheel. this is for a half inch pry bar to fit into. push on the tensioner so that it loosenes the belt and then remove it. The belt only goes on one way so locate the diagram in the engine compartment and make sure you know how the belt is routed before you remove it.If a half inch breaker bar will not fit , then you might need a belt tensioner tool which is available at most part stores.

Timing belt

Did you install a new bushing with the tensioner? There is a bulletin that talks about brass powder on the old tensioner. If there is, install bushing no#JF01-12-754. It sounds like you put new timing belt tensioner and belt, but without the spacer, it could cause problems.

Yes there ia a place in the upper side of the tensioner, there is a shape that look like a nut ia 19 mm. is hard to pull, now there is a trick, do not pull the tensioner more than 3 inches it may brake, the last part of the belt the one that is going to be engauge is the water pump.

My truck is sqeaking around the belt? I have replaced the tenion pulley and the idler pulley but it is still sqeaking?

if the belt is dry replace it to for it will squeak as well.
also a glaze can be on all pulleys so wire brushing them all will clean the glaze off and eliminate the squeaks too
