Question about 2003 Kia Sedona

1 Answer

I have a 2003 kia sedona. My problem is that it seems to start fine in the morning but if it is hot out or I drive a short distance then turn it off it wont start. Could this be a oxygen sensor problem?

Not likely. 02 sensors will not cause a car to not start, run bad yes. Take it to an auto parts store and have the codes checked. Even if the light isn't on. This sounds like an electrical problem. But starters and fuel pumps will cause a no start after they are warm/ hot. Let me know. Randy

i did the same thing. my kia 2003 has a check engin light on and i put the new sencer on and had the code erased and it came back on for the same code for the #2 oxygen sencer. my van will run untill it gets warmed up then it will die if i dont give it a little gas to keep it at or above 1000 rpm's if not it just die's out on me and wont start unless u give it a little gas holding your foot on the pettle. so what could be the solution; i'm thinking the computer?

Probably not the ECM. These are fairly reliable. On yours I would start with vacuum leak checks and then go to the air filter and fuel filter. Next after that would be a tuneup.

this sounds like you thermostat maybe partally stuck, or you cooling fans are not comeing on, check all your fuses and be sure the fans kick on high speed when the car gets hot at idle not driving, if they do come on try rplacing the thermostat,

Was driving in snowy conditions and all of sudden my van stopped. got it towed to the mechanic, he checked and found nothing wrong. He drove for tqo days and gave it to me. Then I drove for 3 weeks all...

Sounds like you have moisture getting into your ignition somewhere. Have your mechanic look at it again but have him water down engine compartment, little at a time.

I have a 2003 Kia Sedona, A/C unit blowing hot air. I tried to recharge with canaster of A/C purchased from auto supply to no avail.

Ours did the same- turned out to be a problem with the selector switch. Replaced it and all was fine.... for a while, now stopped again.

2003 kia sportage starting problems

It could be a problem with the fuel pump or igntion module/ coil pack. The next time it stops, fuel pressure needs to be checked and have the ignition coil pack and module tested at a local parts store.

When to change the timming belt for kia sedona 2002

The dealer recommends the timing belt be replaced at 60,000 miles if it is a rubber timing belt. Newer Sedona models have a metal chain timing belt that don't need to be replaced so soon.
