One of the irbags must be licking. My (02) was doing the same thing and I replace the shocks and problem ws resolved. However, my car looked a little low before the shocks were replace. These shocks are very easy to change and new ones cost me $240

How Do I Fix Service Ride Control warning on Dash, And what is it?

  • The magnetic ride control system senses speed and oscillation of suspension and adjusts shock dampening for a comfortable ride. If a shock is bad or the suspension sensors are damaged in anyway the system deactivates and does to a default setting, and the warning comes on. Did you hit any real bad potholes? or probably just wear and tear.. You need to have your suspension system checked.. shocks, control arms, alignment, etc.

My service suspension system warning is coming on in my 2000 seville sts after getting stuck in the snow, any ideas why?

There is a weight lever switch that may have been bent, broken or just packed up with snow. Place car in a heated garage and hopefully just thawing it out will do the trick. Next thing get your car on a rack and visually check this area for damage. Insurance may cover I don't know. Get help from a person you can trust. Be careful of shysters wanting to take advantage on a Caddy repair.
Good luck and thanks for your question and I hope my suggestions help. burdfrenzy

I own a 2001 Cadillac DHS. The "SERVICE ENGINE

p0071 is the ambient temp sensor which is located by the hood latch behind the grill. They have the yendency just to go bad and you can replace the part for about 30.00 dollars. The dealer is usually higher than a transmission shop. It requires removing the engine and transmission at the same time which means removing the complete frame. A smaller shop may be able to beat the price if you can find one that works on caddies. Some will and some won't. I would shop around.
