Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

Jeep makes a whining sound when I turn left sometimes. Doesn't do it when turning right ever and only seems to do it when driving forward. Only happens at low speeds and doesn't seem to affect steering. Never had a problem with fluid levels being low. It's a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Rocky Mountain Edition, 78k miles.

It MAY,,,,,, be the start of a power steering pump problem.Just maybe. The pumps can moan and groan without leaking,so keep an eye on it.Hope this helps.

This noise is more likely caused by the iiner constant velocity joint. When turning the axle makes a franction of an angle in which no perpendicular to the ground. You'll gonna need to have it check as there is a possiblity that the wheel drum or axle assembly might come off when driving in high speed to avoid accident.

2001 and 2002 jeep grand cherokee. while making hard left hand turn experience rumbling sound doesnt happen when driving straight or right turns. Cant decide if sound is from front or rear area

Try checking the bearing in the left wheel if the rumbling is on the left side. Sometimes bearings can be worn down and sometimes may even twist or bend.
