Automatic trunk lock not working

Hello:
I am sorry if this is the 3rd posting...I cant seem to find my 1st two requests.

I have a 1988 Chevrolet iroc-z28. The automatic trunk lock is not working..Could you tell me if it is the fuse, the regulator, motor, or a loose wire? Where should I look and how do I fix it?
Thank you
VeraLynne

It could be all the above, but do this. First find the fue box and get out the owners manual. If you don't have a manual, than get a haynes book from Napa, or Autozone. . ect, and locate the fuse. If it's not blown, than try locating a relay, probably in the same relative area as the fuse. check it by swapping out with a matching relay next to it. Look at the #'s to confirm they're printed on top. If thats ok, than you need to look at the trunk end. Locate the wires that go to the release mechanism, the outlet that the trunk plugs down into. It may require you to remove the inner panel from inside the hatchback. Check to see if you have power to the solenoid. You will need a test light or meter for this, call a friend if you don't know what these are, Test to see if the switch is sending power to the trunk. If it is, than the solenoid is out or frozen. Work you way from the front to the rear, that way your not playing hit or miss with the diagnosis. good luck Ill try to help you futher if you need it.

2000 larado won't shift from 2nd to 3rd

Hello. It seems your vehicle's transmission has to be rebuilt/replaced. Any automatic transmission that won't 'shift' from 1st gear into 2nd or 3rd gear has a 'worn' slave cylinder that 'slides' gears one way or another. 1st gear works yet 2nd and 3rd don't. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

My 2000 chevy impala automatic transmission does not seem to be shifting into 3rd gear

If you have no check engine light on, than change the filter and if that dont do it, your transmission is bad

Hi I have an 1988 sprint with an automatic (188,000 km) and it sometimes will loose 3rd and 2nd gear . Will still run in 1st .This problem only happens once and a while and when it is shifting it seem...

Sounds like you might have a bit of build up on one of the valve body pistons. I suggest running a can of Trans-X in the transmission for tank full of fuel and then changing the trans filter and fluid. This should clean up everything inside.

My ford focus tdi 2003 cant select 1st,3rd or 5th gears.

Car is in limp in mode unless you have the tools to work on automatic transmission you will need to take it to a transmission shop. Of course you can check oil level but I suspect you have other issues.

Have 1st 2nd and reverse, no drive 1988 model 2 wd

sounds like 3rd gear clutch is out (it might have blew out a lip seal or something)
pull the pan c if there is a lot of black on the bottom of pan (no 3rd = no 4th either) the 3rd gear clutches are engaged along with the 4th gear clutches to make overdrive
if the tcc cable is out of adjustment it mite shift at wot (wide open throttle) max rpm (5000-5500)
if it just 1,2, neutral its probly clutches
