Is the solinoid on the inside of the transmission or the outside on a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The solinoid is based on the starter, outside and apart of the transmission. The solinoid pushes the starter bendex forward onto the ring gear(flywheel) and pulls it back as soon as you release the key. They often get stuck and need 2 be replaced.

How does one add transmission fluid to 1995 jeep grand cherokee laredo?


Look for the dipstick where you check the transmision fluid level. If you need any you pour it down the dipstick hole. Add it in small amounts and check in between additions, its really easy to overfill. Once overfilled a real pain to get it out.

No sir they will not interchange. i worked at a transmission shop for 7 years. the inline 6 has a 500 trans in it and the v8 has a 518 trans in it. the bellhousings are different.

95 Jeep Grand Cherokee front end feels like it's fighting either side either way I turn cv shafts are <10k on them...it feels like the front spider gear is stuck


Not familiar with the ZJ, but does it have a locking differential? Do they use limited slip additive in ZJ diff? If so, then its probably due for a fluid change and new additive.

its on the drivers side on the jeep at the top of the transmission bellhousing...unless u can drop the transmission cross member u will have to remove from inside the engine compartment..i recemend u take to a service center...there a pain in the *** to do if u dont have a lift
