You may have a faulty thermostat pick up a new one at your local parts store

you may also want to check to see at what temperature your fan comes on
if to early you may need a temp censor switch

check to make sure the radiator is full

last use a temperature gage to match the temp you can find one at the auto parts store or in your family grocery store they all work the same as long as it has temperature by degrees

hope this helps you

Pretty likely either the thermostat is stuck open or the electric fan is staying on. Replace thermostat or replace fan relay, depending upon what you find.

1993 jeep grand cherokee loses power at operating temp.

ever do a real tuneup this decade
spark parts, and filters. that be first
and make sure the hot engine (sized not stated) is really hot.
180F or more, and holds, it must reach normal spec, temp.
or the ECU brain will not do its job right.
the only clue I have here is skips
skips must mean misfire.
there are over 50 causes of misfire.
bad spark plugs tops the list.
and all spark parts there, cap/rotor,wires set this OLD.
car is old , needs a major tuneup

they to forget all that other stuff, and elaborage
what skips means.
i guess never cold does it skip.

taCH DROPS TO ZERO BUT engine not heard to stall?

Heater donot get hot whil running

It could be a plugged heater core or heater control problem. I assume the blower is working, but the air is cold. The first thing to check is the coolant level, make sure there is coolant in the resivoir. Next see if the temerature gauge reaches the normal operating temperature range. If the gauge reads cold most of the time, it would tell you that the thermsotat is faulty and not allowing the engine to reach full operating temperature. If your car doesn't have a temp gauge, the blue cold engine light might stay on for an extended period of time. The thermostat is supposed to not allow coolant flow in the radiator until the engine reaches operating temperature. If you drive the car for a couple of minutes, from cold start, the radiator or upper hose should be cool until the engine reaches operating temp.

the electric cooling fan for the radiator will not turn on when the engine reaches normal operating temp, its only supposed to come on if the engine temp goes over the normal temp. (around 220 degrees)
it is normal for the fan to come on any time the a/c or defroster is turned on.

Verify tranny fluid when engine has reached normal operating temperature. U know when u reach that temp when the coolant fans start.
Centuries have a weakness on the 2nd gear valve, but that doesn't seem to be ur case.
Check that and get back to me.
