Hi, phil! what vehicle and model are u working on? Usually the a/c expansion valve is located or mounted either on the left or right side of the engine firewall depending on model. Just follow the path of two a/c pipes , one thick and one thin, going towards the firewall at a common point. where they are bolted to a rectangular block, which is the expansion valve.

CANT FIND EXSPANTION VALVE

It's not visible without removing the evaporator case from the dash and that requires recovering the refrigerant. It's attached to the evaporator.

AC cuts off after a while turn it off for 5 minutes than turn it on and it will work

Sounds like cooling fan is not operating properly or exspantion valve is freezing up.

R134 freon.

you need to put manifold gauges on the system to check pressures.if it is full of freon the low side should be around 30 psi and high side should be around 175 psi. if pressures are ok or alittle low on the low side you need to check exspantion valve. common with the es300's
