Question about 2008 Chevrolet Malibu
Turns out that the case was cracked and leaks where you cannot see until you smell the mildew. We buy them in fleets and now have 3 that are incurring the same problem. Chev dealer has taken 3 weeks to get part so if you have same problem make them order lower housing first before leaving your vehicle as the parts are on national backorder
The AC condensate drain hole/tube is plugged, the drain is on the passenger side under the car close to the firewall.

Check the hose connections for the rear window wiper, Is there dampness on the roof liner also? The connection is in under the roof and comes through into the glass hatch, (Tailgate models only)

under car pass side just behind tire on firewall looking for tube that makes 90 degree bend make sure not clogged if still leaking check for cracks in the evap case
