Thank you for your help and that now makes the problem a headache as the motor works when attached to a battry and I have a good earth and when I check the volts on the pulse side I'm getting about 8 volts and about 12 on the power side but when all leads are connected to the motor I get no volts on the pulse side and about 12v on the power side...any clues??

There will not be a relay for the wipers. They are powered directly through the switches. The power draw for a wiper motor does not warrant a relay

The permanent power is the run/parking power, the pulse makes it move off
the stop, then the permanent power takes over till the park position is
reached, so powering the pulse one (with the earth connected) will make it
run. How does this fit in with your situation, please come back to me and lets look into this further.

I dont have an owners manual for my renault megane w reg, the rear wiper is not working & there is no space in fuse box for a fuse, is there somewhere else for a fuse for this

Rear wiper morors are notorious for developing faults, Access the motor wiring and test for power. I don't think there is a designated fuse for the rear wiper but a call to Renault dealet will clarify. The less frequent use and water ingress is top of suspect problems. Good luck

Check your plugs again, make sure they aren't gunked up already or covered in oil or anything. Double check the spark gaps on them as well.
