A code P0301 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • Faulty spark plug or wire
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Running out of fuel
  • Poor compression
  • Defective computer

Its normally best to start with the spark plug first then the wires then the coil then o2 sensor do keep in mind that if it happens to be a oxygen sensor that it will be the one before the catalytic converter. That is the one that controls fuel and air tuning.

All that being said all of them are easy fixes at least and the plugs and wires are fairly cheap and coils not too expensive nor are o2 sensors.

I hope this helps on your journey to get car running again if so please rate 4 thumbs helps me continue to help on here thanks

Codes p351 p352 p353 03 caravan, new plugs, new wires, checked coil spark with hei tester had spark, checked coil with ohm meter got .7 on main coils and 11.8 12.0 11.6 on coil banks is coil bad?

These are not valid fault codes, valid codes have the Letter "P" "U" or "C" followed by four numbers, so a typical Standard OBD2 fault code for the engine would be PXXXX, the "X": being a number 0-9 and the "P" standing for "powertrain"

What do I do next? My 2001 olds alero 3.4l v6 is misfiring constantly. Scanned obd2 error code p0301. Already changed spark plug, wire, and coil for cylinders 1 and 4. Still have same problem.

I recommend checking all injectors and O rings on the injectors if an O ring cracks air can raise Cain with misses so can injectors another thing is cam to look at will cause a constant miss but only on 1 cylinder at a time but doubt its the cam. check injectors and O rings also pull 1 plug wire at a time with wire pliers while engine is running and find the 1 cylinder that is giving you the problem when you pull the plug wire that is missing the engine will smooth out then that cylinder is your problem wear rubber gloves with the plug wire pliers so you dont get bit let me know if i can help please rate my solution as this is how i earn my achievements on fixYa thanks.

Where are sparkplugs located on 2009 pontiac g3 4 cyl

There is a cover in the middle of the valve cover with four bolts holding it on. Unplug the module on the driver side of the cover, remove the four bolts, and the cover will come off. The spark plugs will be underneath.

Can you tell me where the spark plugs are located?

Remove the portion that says ECOTEC on the engine. It is just a plastic cover and your plugs will be under there beneath the coil packs. Should be easy to access.

I got a 2003 grand Prix 3.1 engine. the digonistic read P301 on the machine. can you please explain what does that mean

P0301 indicates that there is a misfire on the number one cylinder.

This would be the back cylinder on the drivers side. Some common causes would be a bad spark plug or a bad spark plug wire. Checking the plug and the wire would be a good first step.
