Question about 1999 Dodge Ram

1 Answer

My Dodge Ram 1500 pickup is making a noise from the engine. When I excelerate the noise gets better. When I turn on the blower for the heat and defrost it get louder. I thought it could be a belt or pulley. Any suggestions?

You are probably right. Now it's up to you to replace the belt and inspect the pulley bearings for looseness or roughness when turning. Could also just be that the belt need to be tightened a bit.
If adjustable adjust it. If it's on a spring loaded tensioner you can't.

Check generator, or its belt tension, or its pulley..

Can I put a 1998 dodge ram 1500 4.7L V8 engine in a 2002 dodge ram 1500?

Yes it will fit but why, it is a very poor engine choice as they are fraught with mechanical problems. the 5.2L is a better choice.

Blower fan only works on high. Dodge Ram pickup 2001. I would guess its the blower switch. If it is, where is it so I may fix it?

I agree it is most likely the blower switch. It is attached to the knob you turn to select the speed :) Best of luck!

Blower motor makes loud noise when on high

I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 with the same problem, vibrating blow fan when on high, pulled the blower fan out and found a piece of the hinge from the recirculation door and felt the recirculation door sitting up on the vent of its hinge. Crappy engineering once again.
