Please help me took my 2001 monte ss in to have the manifold gasket changed. Mechanic calls to say he likes to change the oil at the same time so i approved the work to get a call that says i started the car when it died it refuses to start again. Radio is locked now that he has tired so much to start the things that normally fires right up. mechanic is suggesting that i have a spun bearing could this happen just changing a gasket?
Try unhooking the cars battery for fifteen minutes then hooking it back up. they probably did this at the shop when they were finished to clear the engine trouble codes. my car radio recently acted up all i had to do was unhook the battery then it worked like new.

The radio is in Lock-Out mode. You only get two attempts to enter the code, then it enters Lock-Out mode. Put the key in ignition and turn on the radio for an hour (maybe a bit more). The radio should reset itself after about an hour and then you can re enter the code.
hi there you say you have had the lock changed do you mean the key hole or the door closure part of the lock?
if you changed the key part its the main lock that's faulty and the reveres is true ,
if the remote is working on one door it is not the remote that's the problem.
i hope that this has been helpful regards John
