  1. You will need to jack your car up a bit.
  2. The rear drums will have two looking gears you need to adjust.
  3. You may need to remove a rubber grommet that covers it as well.

  • I have also uploaded a console diagram for you in case you need to reference that.

There are several things that can make a hand brake stick on. It possible the cable attached to the leaver has come off it guide. There is a cable running from each rear wheel to the handbrake leaver , a inner cable running through a outer housing , chick that the inner cable is free to move back and forward . if all the cables are free to slide adjust the rear brakes and hand brake as instructions . Slacken off the hand brake cable adjustment. Jack up the rear wheals and adjust the brake shoes till the brakes lock, then back off till the wheels are free to turn. Then pull the hand brake leaver on two clicks and adjust the hand brake cable till the rear wheels just start to bind, release the hand brake leaver and check the wheels are free to turn.

Usually happens when your brake cable is just a bit loose. It's just a simple adjustment of your hand brake cable that's required.

Attach cable to brake shoe before mounting the brake. You might have to wedge it in position. After-which adjust brake shoe pressure against the drum. Loosen or tighten adjustment tension nut at the hand brake lever if necessary (before and after).

Remove the console surrounding the brake lever and you will see a tall hex bolt with a slot in it on the side of the brake lever. Pull the lever up about five or six clicks and then tighten this bolt.

Good day;
After you put it all back together did you drive the car in reverse then apply park brake? If not give this a try, just use your hand park to stop the car, these should fix the problem,Let me know how you made out.
