You may have to check the valve for the transmission. Each of the gears has valves which sends the fluid to engage the gear. It may need cleaning or is faulty. Normally this happens when you have debris or dirt in your oil.

1993 chevy k1500 transmission problem

Do you mean start the car in drive? if so that problem is inhibitor switch. Other shift problems can be caused by TPS (throttle posistion sensor) if applicable

4x4 K1500 Chevy Truck, 4 wheel drive repair instructions

There are a number of different hub systems so this may not work but it has worked for me on both auto and manual locking hubs. On a flat surface without traffic. Put the trans into neutral, shift the transfer case into 4x4, shift the trans into reverse and back the truck up 15-20 feet. Completely stop and shift trans into drive. See if this has locked the hubs in. If not, you can also try following the same instructions except shifting into 4wd low. Sometimes the hubs need a "bump" to get them to slip into place. Keep In mind that if the 4 wd low select works, you need to shift it back into 4 wd high before continuing! When taking the truck out of 4wd to 2wd, I recommend the same, shift to neutral, select 2wd, back truck up, shift back to drive and check. Its entirely possible that your hubs need maintenance (they're often overlooked) but hopefully this will get you going. Please let me know if thus worked or if I can offer other suggestions. Good luck!

What size tiresdoes it take

Most 93 Chevy 4x4's with steel wheel's, center cap & beauty ring's where shipped with 245-75-16's.

If you have the aluminum factory wheels? Some of those were also shipped with the same. The Z-71 truck's had 265-75-16's. Both size's will work on either wheel. You can also opt. for 245 or 265-70-16's. They are a little cheaper, and a little shorter on over-all height.

Where is the location of the netrual saftey switch on a 1994 k1500 chevy truck 4x4

Black switch located on the driver's side of the transmission. The shift cable runs to the arm sticking out of the trans. Has a 13mm nut in the center holding the arm on. Put on the e-brake and/or chock the wheels. Have someone shift it (not running) and you'll see the cable move the arm. Pop the cable off gently but firmly. Remove the 13mm nut (shift arm IS going to click and move changing gears) and wiggle that shift arm off. Unplug the neutral safety switch, and remove the two screws. Gently pop/pry it off.

93 chevy pickup won't start unless in neutral

Put the trans in nuetral and see if it starts normal with key. If not, then the ignition swith is suspect. The actual switch is mounted on top of the steering column on the lower end. It is actuated by a rod. the key has no electrical. or your trans linkage needs adjusting. Good luck, Ned-

I have a 93 Chevy Suburban 1500 and the Transmission won't shift into any gear. I have an 1983 Chevy Suburban Transmission that is still good. Can I use the 83 Transmission in my 93 Suburban?

Not without a little adapting. The 1993 has a 4l60e which is electronically controlled and has shift solenoids. If the 83 is an overdrive it is a 700r4 which is the same trans but not electronic. If you put it in the speedo wont work and you will need to install a T.V. cable so the transmission will shift. The 93 won't go forward or backwards?
