Hi Mike have you checked the rear axel bushes or spring hangers. Have had a similar fault which was caused by the rear axel floating too much. Good Luck.

Looking at my GM Codes, I find that C= Chassis Code, and 0379 indicates Front Axel System. You can find a list of the GM Chassis Codes at http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/obd-ii-c-chassis-codes.php.

Where are the bushings for the low control arm on 1996 chevy tahoe 4wd located

If you are replaceing both sides (drivers & passangers (recomended)) you will need 4 bushes in total 2 front susp rear & 2 front susp front. There is 2 bushes both sides (front of front & rear of front) The lower control arms go from the chassis to the lower ball joints (just behind tyres at bottom) will be a big job!

My daughter ran her 98 Civic EX into a ditch flattening the front tire on the right front and bending the entire rear left wheel inward. I replaced to lower control arm in the rear, but now the car has...

not a lower control arm problem
the wheel alignment guy is not lying

the front wheel drive only has tow in toe out adjustments
no camber adjustments
the frame is pre stressed at manufacture set at zero

if the shock tower frame on any front wheel drive gets bent up.... even a little bit
the camber will be way out
even front ride height may be way out on each front side

too dangerous to drive
the car is a write off

only good to sell for parts or buy the same model and swap over its good bits

if you like the car a lot
to correct the damage needs the front chassis stripped back to frame and put on a frame straightenerd47f961b-7315-43ab-a146-e3069f36ad5f.jpg

What i sthe name of the rod that goes from one front spring assembly across to the other?

If its a sort of long rod with a link at each end that attach it to the control arms and a couple of bushings that mount it to the chassis then it may be the sway bar.

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Im getting a rattle under the jeep. It sounds like metal hitting metal its not the exhaust for that is not hittig anything. it sounds like its to the rear. Someone said...

Your jeep has two upper and two lower control arms attached to the rear axle. They have rubber bushings where they bolt to the axle and to the body. If the bushings are badly deteriorated, you will get a metal to metal sound when hitting bumps. Have them all checked.
