SOURCE: Engine Check Light - 2006 KIA Optima

Before you turn out the light you should have a code read carried out just to make sure nothing sinister is going on with the management system.

If the car is running ok then the code will probably either pertian to the O2 sensor, the EVAP system, or a drop in catalytic efficiency, but this isn't set in stone, just the most popular scenarios.

Very best regards

Chances are you have an issue with one of the following

1.) Spark plugs and or wires (Boots)
2.) Coil
3.) Crank Position sensor (or Blade)
4.) Timing belt may be heading for replacement.

How many miles are on the car?
I recommend having the timing belt replaced at or before the recommended intervals as with theses cars they almost go like clock work.

SOURCE: I hit a small bump. My car cut off and would not start back. It will turn over but will not crank.

hi its probably the fuel cut off switch. in an impact an enerchia switch will cut off the fuel pump. your local dealer will tell you where its fitted and its just a push of the switch and away it will go.

I have a possible major issue My 2006.5/2007 Kia Optima Please Help its throwing up a P0011 Code Meaning Advanced Camshaft Timing?

If the engine makes rattling noise too then your timing chain tensioner may need to be checked. Slacked chain will alter camshaft timing. Check timing marks to confirm that the chain has not jumped one or two sprocket teeth.

I have a 2006 KIA Opt, sometimes when you start it, it will run rough and will hardly accelerate. After you turn the ignition on and off a few times it will start running better

A 2006 kia, this computer system in this car is pretty smart, with this problem the check engine light should be on or codes are stored, this sounds like you may have a bad ignition coil or low fuel pressure, the first step is to have the computer scanned to see if there are any codes stored, there are many auto parts stores that will scan the computer for free, have the computer scanned and see if there are any codes, start with that and let me know what the codes are if any, good day.

Check engine light came on- no odd sounds, or shutters, etc.

could be numerous reasons for the light to come on, I would recommend taking the car to your local parts store or shop and have the DTC read, it could be as simple as a loose or defective gas cap.

How to replace top (3rd) brake light on Kia Optima 2007

This answer makes a mountain out of a mole hill! There are two screws directly under the light accessible from the trunk (in two hole, the wires come out of one of them)- just unscrew and you can manuever out without taking off the whole back panel.
