Question about 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

2002 Chevy Trailblazer...the blower fan for the inside cabin sounds like a helicopter now. The fan still blows air but not much at all. It almost sounds like it is clogged with something solid but how could that be? It also does not blow on speed 5 which I know is the resistor but is the blower going bad as well? Thanks.

Thanks. I took the wheel assembly down and there it was, 11 years worth of lint, leaves, pine straw, etc. Something must had been living there. I cleaned it out and works great now. Very easy to do. Thanks again.

Things can get stuck in the hamster wheel assembly. Many times you'll find a mouse nest in there, see it many times. I would suggest you clean this out and you should be good to go. If the blower motor is indeed bad after cleaning, think about getting one from a junk yard and installing it, much cheaper. These don't go bad all that often, so try cleaning it.

Not sure if you know how to drop the glove box door to aid in this procedure....So, empty the glove box, and open it. To the left, you'll see an access hole, stick your finger in there and you'll feel a spring loaded metal piece that you can press back, this will drop the door all the way down, for easier access to not only the motor, but that pesky resistor also.

Does my 06 Trailblazer have a cabin air filter

{: ) There's no cabin air filter installed. If your concern is a low air output, I suggest you remove the front blower motor and clean it with pressurized air. Maybe the blower fins have accumulated dust or debris and this will diminish the air output. Also check the inside of the housing once you removed the blower motor. Sometimes some dry leaves or matter accumulate on the evaporator wall, hence, blocking some of the air. Good luck.

Auto air and heat in car does not work

Sound like your HVAC door from the blower fan is staying closed
and not letting any air blow through the ducts. You will need to
check the vacumm or electric actuator in the dash. If you can locate it,
manually pull the door actuator to see if it will open and let the cold or hot air get to the ducts to blow into the cabin. It's not really for beginners, but if you can actually get to the main door inside the dash, you might just have a broken vacumm line in the engine bay, that is
not actuating the door actuator. Check for any vacumm leaks, then if you find one, I'll bet you'll have your system fixed. Good luck.

Trailblazer A/C clutch blows hot !

If it is cycling then its low on freon .. Try to put in one can and this will take care of your problem.. The cycling is due to being low .. The clutch is operated by a pressure switch .. when the clutch kicks in it pressures up but not enough freon will kick it back off and starts over again ... Thanks Jerry
