20005 expedition throttle light came on. Vehicle stalled and coasted to side of road. Then started ok. Has there been a recall for this problem? I noticed several complaints about this. Gobel Banks

I am pretty sure this is going to be your fuel relay. I take it your truck cuts out at strange times and you have to coast to the side of the road? The relay in these is located up in front of the spare tire. Very easy to replace. You will find a corroded covering that exposes the electronics and causes it to fail.

Hello, I am a Dodge , Chrysler and Jeep Technician with 13 years experience. There are no recalls for your vehicle that pertain to your condition, however there is a service bulletin that may apply. Is your Check Engine Light on? If so is the trouble code P0123 "Throttle position sensor voltage high". If this is your concern just replace the throttle position sensor held on by two T20 torx screws on the side of the throttle body.

Check electronic throttle control

We have been experiencing same faults on a 2005 Expedition,with engine stopping and the message "Check electronic throttle". Ifirst went to AutoZone and they read the codes. They suggested replacing thethrottle sensor, which we did, but car stopped again. We had to replace thebattery in a month and this is the fix. The battery was almost 6 years old andwhen you first start your engine, it sucks too much load and gives these faultsto the computer. It never stopped since then (3 mo already). Sometimes we useto get the message 3 times a day.

5.4 L eng? On these at 90000- 120000 miles;
There is a vacuum line (rubber) on the aft part of the engine,engine-tranny-firewall area, that usually deteriorates to the point of leaking. This will cause uneven idle or stalling. The vehicle should still accelerate normally, especially at full throttle.

Electronic Throttle control light came on and car died

We ended up taking the vehicle to a trusted auto repair shop. The codes came up indicating a failed throttle body, most likely in the electronics. After a few more pinpoint tests, the recommendation was to replace the throttle body. The cost for this repair was just under $500. Since there is no aftermarket on this part, Genuine Ford parts were used.
