Question about Chevrolet S 10

Open Question

DRL lights work fine but headlights sometime come on and sometime they don't then after various times they come on. This morning they began to come on and go off and you could hear a clicking from the passenger side as they went on and off.

My headlights seem to work fine until we've driven for about a half hour, then you hear a click and it switches to the DRL's. After a minute or two the headlights come back on. It's not a big deal if we're using low beams anyway, but we do a lot of highway driving and if they're on high-beam and it does this then the oncoming drivers think we're flashing our high-beams at them. It's really annoying.

DRL works all the time...turn lamp switch on ..don't get brighter...and highbeams don't work.

The DRL's are separate from the actual headlights. It sounds like your headlights aren't working at all. The first thing I would check would be the headlight fuse(s), or relay(s). The location for these should be in your owner's manual.

Hope this helps!

I got a Civic '02 the drl sign lights up and loud noise is coming from the glove compartment area. After investigation I found out the right light is not on while the left is fine (when the drl sign shows...

The DRL stands for daytime running lights. There is an electronic module that controls the operation of this that is located under the dash, which is probably where your noise is coming from. The noise goes away when you turn your headlights on because the DRL will disengage. I have replaced these before on civics and it should cure your problem. When ordering your part ask for a "daytime running light module". Hope this helps.

What is the DRL warning light on the dashboard of my 2007 Honda CRV?

On my 2007 Honda CR-V The DRL code appeared on the dash board. Additionally I had only one high beam (on the passenger side); both low beams were fine, but I did not have a Daytime Running Light on the drivers side. The DRL code was really misleading because the real problem was that the high beam element in the headlight bulb was burned out. Note that the daytime running light is not a seperate bulb -- it is the high beam element which is powered at a low voltage. Once I replaced the head light bulb everything worked fine and the DRL code on the dash board was gone. So if the DRL message appears what you really need to do is replace the headlight bulb (there are YouTube videos which show how to do this - but search for headlight replacement, not for DRL fix). Be careful not to touch the new bulb with you hands since premature burnout can occur from the grease off your skin. I got my bulb from Wal-Mart for $8.88 (it's a 9003/HB2 for the 2007 CR-V) -- that's a pretty cheap fix.

Head lights won't work. drl and high beams work

Check for sure, that both bulbs haven't somehow (unlikely, I know) blown out. If they are both fine, it could be the headlight switch. Another possibility, there was a recall recently for the headlights due to the splices not staying together, causing the regular headlights to not function. This recall affected over 90,0000 Suzukis of different model years. Hope this helps, sorry I couldn't give you anything concrete
