Hard to get started when cold no back fireing you have to hold it to the floor and let up and repet it has spark and gas

Check fuel pressure at the schrader value. Pressure should be 41-47 psi with Key-ON, Engine-OFF, and hold (within several pounds). If it drops rapidly, the cause is most often the check ball in the fuel pump. This is one of the common causes for hard starting.

Holding the accelerator to the floor during starting puts the PCM into the "Clear Flood Mode", if this is your issue.

Chevy s-10 4cyl starts only with pedal only to floor but sputters bad and wont accelerate.

On Chevrolet fuel injected vehicles holding the accelerator on the floor during cranking activates "clear flood mode " that turns the fuel injectors off the fact that it then starts tell me that the engine is flooded or the ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor or circuit is telling the ecm the wrong temp several other causes are blown fuel pressure regulator, low fuel pump pressure, low compression or faulty coil pack

Ac vacuum

There could be a vac tank problem or a vac leak.
Most american vehicles use a plastic ball or object as a vac holding tank. The tank or a vac hose can be leaking.
If the system fails, the default position is the defrosters for safety.

Low power when accelerating

I thought the filter might be the issue here, on carb cars the engine tends to stall out with a plugged filter.
